Objective
It is of crucial importance for smaller regions to become more competitive in the open European market. It is also essential for local businesses, industry and labour organisations in these regions to form alliances with vocational training institutions in order to maximise regional development efforts.
The aim of this project is therefore to enhance and strengthen vocational education and training at regional level. It will do this by identifying key players in regional economies and establishing a model for dialogue between them. It will also develop appropriate training programmes and materials for teams of regional co-ordinators and vocational training counsellors to enable them to deploy their specific knowledge of future development and local business needs.
Impact
More precise assessment of local business and regional development needs will improve vocational education programmes and in-service training for young people, for the workforce and for the unemployed.
