Key competences - new methods and anticipation of the evolution of qualifications in the metal sector due to industrial change and their mutual recognition Euro-meta-key

Objective

The objective of this project is to enable workers threatened with unemployment to acquire new transversal competences that are based on a validation of their existing knowledge, however it was acquired (on-the-job, through continuing training or other means).

The partners will identify and analyse qualification, training and validation practices that are evolving due to industrial change. They will then develop new tools for anticipating changes in transversal competences in the metal work sector. Transversal competences in the technical area will be validated and mutually recognised within the framework of a 'portfolio'. New continuing vocational training tools and methods will then be developed, specifically dealing with key competences for jobs affected by industrial change in the metal work sector. A general report on the project will bring together the main conclusions of the partners' work.

Impact
It is envisaged that the project will lead to mutual recognition of transversal competences in the steelwork sector, notably within the framework of collective agreements and contractual policies.
