Improving cold chain logistics with a temperature monitoring label

Periodic Reporting for period 2 - Svalinn (Improving cold chain logistics with a temperature monitoring label)

Reporting period: 2022-02-01 to 2024-01-31

For the pharmaceutical and food logistics industries, temperature control during transport is vitally important. Inadequate temperature control is responsible for significant financial losses annually across these industries, since products exposed to temperature extremes can be rendered useless or even dangerous to consumers. Existing solutions rely on costly, complicated methods with significant drawbacks. The EU-funded Svalinn project is developing a cutting-edge automated temperature logger with the capacity to provide a full temperature and location log for every shipment throughout its journey. The goal is to significantly reduce losses during transport and ensure products reach consumers intact.
R&D related to temperature logger with additional environmental sensors and battery. Prototype testing done, together with activities within the following areas: production planning, supply chain development, IPR, market monitoring, communication activities, sales and marketing preparation, business innovation and commercialization plan development and project management.
The consortium is developing and commercializing a highly cost-effective and highly automated temperature logger with additional environmental sensors.
