Objetivo

This project will identify new fields of qualification requirements in the chemistry sector corresponding to the needs of the trade, especially those of small and medium-sized firms, and will develop adequate, innovative methods and subject matter for alternance training.

Initially, the qualification requirements in the chemistry sector will be identified. Specific subject knowledge and key qualifications will be included. The results will be evaluated to determine new training topics for alternance training. Possibilities regarding certification recognised throughout Europe will be examined. The overall idea is to make training transparent and to have it reciprocally recognised.

The result of the project will be the identification of the elements needed for an inter-nationally recognised curriculum which includes, not only specialist and key qualifications, but also inter-national experience and language skills. This will make available to the trade, and especially to the training institutions, training material that meets their needs. The long-term aim will be to develop a flexible system, recognised throughout Europe, of professional training in the chemistry sector.

Impact
In the long term, this project will have an effect on the vocational training system. This effect includes concrete negotiating instructions for the project partners and third parties, which will help students find better job opportunities in the European labour market, and will help firms find better trained and more mobile workers.
