Objetivo

The aim of this project is to promote cooperation between training centres and enterprises in the field of continuing vocational training in the food canning industry and to establish common European training on the latest food processing technologies. All of the partners involved have close links with the canning industry in their respective regions and vast experience of training and research. They will act as promoters for the project in their regions.

In the first phase, the partners will undertake an analysis of training services available to SMEs and the identification of a common training and dissemination plan. The second phase will be devoted to the development of training courses in the following areas: food processing technologies; safety and nutritional issues, sensory analysis; quality assurance; environmental issues; and food law. The estimated duration of pilot courses will be 40 hours, including a visit to local canning companies in the regions involved. The courses will be targeted at professionals from technological centres, SMEs and postgraduates. The documentation produced during the pilot courses will be published and used for dissemination purposes.

Impact
The relationships created amongst the partners will encourage the transfer of technologies and know-how from the most advanced centres to the less-developed ones.
