Objective
In order to develop new employment in the urban security sector, while maintaining the distinction between maintenance of law and order and social unrest, the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS) runs special training programmes. In this context, the present project relates to training for managers in urban security, and aims to develop and accredit a European training course for decision-makers and local elected officials. In doing so, it aims to assist the emergence of new professions by exploring the new employment opportunities related to urban security practices.
This training, structured within the framework of the EFUS, will consist of a number of different phases: a tour of the cities of the network with local diagnosis of urban security needs; engineering and assessment of a local security plan; design of modules in a European context, presented to a symposium; dissemination of the lessons of the training to tutors responsible for training by means of a video. The project will be assessed, at different stages, by the beneficiaries, then by a collective of training and urban security experts, and finally by the public and private partners involved in the training initiative.
The results of the projects will be disseminated through the EFUS network using appropriate tools: meetings, publications, seminars, conferences.
Impact
By defining the content of new professions in this sector, this project will help to combat unemployment through the development of locally-based jobs.
