Digital IP support for manufacturing SMEs
The protection of intellectual property (IP) has always been challenging. Current IP rules are in flux, undergoing major changes from Industry 4.0 implementation. Also, data is a strategic resource for the development of innovative digital products and services. However, European manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are unsure about how to protect and monetise digital IP, and deliver added value using their intangible assets like data, methodologies, the configuration of interconnected systems, 3D designs, and processing algorithms. The EU-funded Go-DIP project will raise awareness of digital data and software IP values to support IP management at manufacturing. The project will integrate the software and data IP management systems into SME business strategies.
