Qualifications With a Dual Focus on Employment and Higher Education

Objective

DUOQUAL is a multiplier project based on the Leonardo da Vinci project INTEQUAL, which investigated innovative qualification schemes at upper secondary level with a dual focus on employment and higher education (dual qualification) in seven European countries. The comparative analysis will now be applied to a group of eight other countries in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.

This extension will allow the transfer of established experience and, at the same time, a more differentiated analysis of the diversity of schemes and their complex relation to the national framework of vocational education and training.

Apart from the comparative analysis on the eight new countries, which is the most important part of the project, there will be workshops at national and regional levels for vocational education and training experts, policy makers and practitioners.

Impact
The project will increase the attractiveness and the status of vocational education and training by improving its quality and forging closer links between educational and training establishments and enterprises. DUOQUAL will investigate schemes of dual qualification for skilled work and stimulate national policies in this direction.
