Skills Certification System

Objective

Economists agree that labour mobility can make a significant contribution to reducing the gap between strong and weak economies. The accreditation of prior learning is one way of encouraging mobility in the labour market. The main aim of this pilot project is to develop recognition and certification of competencies acquired in the workplace in the electrical and electro-mechanical sectors, specifically with regard to production and technology.

The partners will work in close contact with enterprises, local authorities, and the Italian Ministry of Labour to design and develop a training package designed to facilitate the accreditation of existing skills. They will compare the training methods and systems of the different countries involved. They will also conduct a survey of emerging needs in the electrical and electro-mechanical sectors. The final product will give individuals the chance to develop their qualifications through the development of competencies linked to the needs of the production system. The process and the product will be evaluated using a quality certification method.

Impact
The project will contribute to the development of a qualification framework in the electrical and electro-mechanical sectors, and ultimately promote labour mobility.
