Objective
This pilot project will be carried out in the city of Cefalù and its surroundings, which despite being economically different from the partner areas, has great potential for development in the area of cultural heritage. The aim is to develop training to promote economic growth.
The main aim of the project is the organisation of a pilot teacher training programme. After examining sectoral, regional and technological trends, teams of teachers from the three different countries involved will undertake courses in foreign languages, cultural heritage, marketing, technology, the environment and tourism management.
At the end of the programme, training multimedia and hypertext materials will be produced. An evaluation of the programme will be made by the partners, using standard quality assessment procedures. Seminars and conferences will be organised on vocational guidance and social exclusion.
Impact
The project will up-date the skills and qualifications of teachers and trainers with regard to social and economic change. This will have a knock-on effect in the quality of education provided in the partner areas.
