Objective
Contacts with National Resource Centres for Guidance in different countries have highlighted the need for an easily accessible information and communication platform. Today, a variety of information sources are used - databases on diskettes and CD-ROM, newsletters, brochures, handbooks. All encounter the same problem - data has to be collected, up-dated and distributed. Durable channels of communication are essential to meet the demand for more up-to-date and adequate information in the field of guidance and counselling, notably with regard to the European education and labour market.
Each new partner country in this multiplier project will develop a national homepage according to the same structure used in the existing European ESTIA Homepage on the internet (http://www.estia.educ.goteborg.se/). They will also provide links to useful local information sources, and will establish national communication channels for specialists in the field of guidance and counselling. They will also be invited to participate in the European ESTIA Homepage's electronic communication network.
Partners will be asked to provide intercultural distance training material to enable others to understand and access the information contained in their national homepage.
Impact
The use of a common information and communications technology (ICT) platform by National Resource Centres for Guidance will give all European citizens access to relevant and up-to-date information in the field of transnational guidance and counselling.
