Forest energy - A solution for the future power needs

Objective

To follow the Kyoto agreement and the EU White paper, effective global actions are required. The only way to significantly improve the use of renewable energy in the short and medium time span is the utilisation of biomass. Other renewable energy sources (like solar and wind power) cannot contribute to any significant change in total energy consumption. This proposal creates a project in which the complete chain of renewable biomass energy source is developed and brought to the competitive level for the first time ever by utilising the best resources available.

The main objectives of the project are to:
- conduct high level research on the development of the renewable and clean bio-energy technology
- develop the complete energy chain from the forest to the consumer
- develop an energy system producing renewable energy to the market price (fuel price <8Mwh)
- develop an CO2 emission neutral energy system
- keep other emissions at a lower level than the regulation require.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
