Exploitable results
Technical and commercial know-how on Mobile services building and operating, that means services platform Hardware and Software architecture design and dimensioning, Data Base and data Replication working knowledge, application development tools operating experience, GSM specific capabilities like SMS and Location Identification interfacing, grafic maps implementation, Java, plugin and activeX technology practical usage, user interface definition and building.
Most significant services implemented during Moments project are:
1) Milan City Information, based upon vector maps implemented as a plugin, encompassing street search, taxi, hotel and restaurant, traffic online information embedding Location Identification usage, culture, events search by cathegory and date.
2) Meteo forecast in Southern Europe and Italy, graphically implemented as a very compact plugin, encompassing text info daily updated from a Meteo simulation model.
3) Highways North Italy online traffic information embedding an SMS alert service and Location Identification usage to relocate City Maps.
4) Flight information using SMS.
5) Stock exchange Information services embedding SMS alert.
All these and other services developed were tested along three operating trials with 30 users in Italy, and can be demoed in Datanord site.
