Distributed Video Production

Exploitable results

Distributed Video Production refers to situations where the cameras, recorders, switchers, mixers and other equipment used in video production are located at several production sites linked by high bandwidth network connections. DVP has run a series of trials of distributed virtual studios, distributed rehearsal systems, distributed virtual reality (coupled CAVEs) and distributed video editing and retrieval systems. DVP results are distributed video-production systems, in particular real-time interactive systems, distributed virtual studio systems, distributed rehearsal systems, distributed virtual reality systems (coupled CAVEs, Virtual Workbench) and distributed video-editing and retrieval systems. All systems have been used in a series of trials. Measurement and evaluation reports are available. Project URL: http://viswiz.gmd.de/DVP/
