The ITTI project has developed the first prototype of an interactive terrestrial system based on a DVB-T downstream and on a SFDMA UHF return channel. This prototype is available for testing among iTTi partners. It will be adapted and duplicated in order to carry out field trials in Rennes (France) and Dublin (Ireland) in the framework of the IST WITNESS project.
The iTTi prototype is made of:
-A complete interactive DVB-T broadcasting system (including the UHF SFDMA return channel receiver, the Medium Access Control-MAC equipment, the application server and the common DVB-T broadcasting chain).
-And of the equipment at user's site (including the DVB-T Receiver, the interactive Set-Top-Unit, the MAC card and the SFDMA transmitter).
This is described in the Public iTTI D16 deliverable: iTTi Demonstrator modules available. After a demonstrator integration in laboratory, described by the Public D23 deliverable (Demonstrator chain set-up), and the establishment of over the air field trials facilities (Public D24), the prototype itself (and its modules) remains the propriety of the ones who developed it (or its different modules).
Besides, this prototype will be the basis for further adaptation and duplication to be carried out in the framework of the emerging IST WITNESS project, in order to launch extensive field trials in Rennes, France (on TDF site) and in Dublin, Ireland (On RTE site).
