COORDINATION FOR JOINT APPROACH ON GRAIN LEGUME TRANSFORMATION (METHODS AND OBJECTIVES) TO DEVELOP COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS

Objective

- to establish a network of experts in the EU sharing the know-how of grain legume transformation;

- to coordinate a ring test to define a joint transformation protocol;

- to discuss with the end-users, such as commercial breeders, about their needs and constraints and about the commercial applications of the transformed peas.

- to prepare joint research projects on several specific gene transfers.

This network aims to stimulate discussion between experts and users and get the transformation systems ready to fulfill existing demands for transferring genes of interest to the grain legumes, protein-rich crops which match the needs of a sustainable agriculture in the E.U.

The 2 main issues of the Concerted Action are based on methodologies and on commercial applications of genetic transformation.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
