EVALUATION OF RISKS FROM RADIATION-INDUCED CANCER.
METABOLISM AND TRANSPORT OF ACTINIDES IN THE BODY.
Studies have been carried out of the chemical form in which plutonium and other actinides are present in blood plasma, in intracellular structures, such as lysosomes, and in various compartments of the gastrointestinal tract. The role of transferrin as the principal transport protein for actinide and lanthanide elements has been investigated.
