Development of ultrasensitive assays for detection of viral agents, genetic disorders in clinical samples including gene therapy

Objective

The aim of this project is the further development of a quantitative polymerase chain reaction 4 system for different diagnostic applications and the evaluation of large scale applicability in ind screening. Diagnostic kits for viruses, genome instabilities, genomic dysmorphologies, specifi receptors and gene therapy shall be developed. A reverse transcriptase assay for retrovirus det and quantification (= reference system) will be the basis for the development of this novel quan PCR system. A number of various research areas can be covered: biomedical technology, engineering, comparative human genome analyses and diseases with major socio economic impe cancer. AIDS, brain disorders or other rare diseases.
