INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR PREDICTIVE AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF AGGREGATE PRODUCTION PLANTS

Objective

The industrial objective of this project is to design an innovative integrated system of predictive and preventive maintenance management, adapted to the special features of quarries: just-in-time, low-skilled personnel, harsh conditions. This project will lead to the development of an initial prototype.

This system should help to reduce failures significantly and to schedule maintenance operations in accordance with production objectives, to eliminate shutdowns and dismantling of crushers for bearings inspection, and to limit production losses caused by worn-out crushing parts.

In order to reach these industrial targets, the project includes the following objectives:

- Development of simulators of process operation and reliability, and their association with a CAMM system. This will enable scheduling of maintenance operations according to production requirements.

- Design of a predictive maintenance system capable of reconstituting the degradation rate of crusher bearings, thereby eliminating dismantling for inspection purposes.

- Design of a predictive maintenance system for crushing components designed to optimize parts replacement.

Expected spin-offs from this project involve a 25% reduction of production losses, an increase in workforce qualification, an improvement in ergonomics, and a better environmental integration of the plants in this industry which consists essentially of small and medium-size firms.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
