INFLUENCE OF RAW MATERIALS ON SANITARYWARE NEW TECHNOLOGIES PRESSURE CASTING AND FAST FIRING

Objective

The sanitaryware production is a European traditionnal industry. The currently used technologies which are old and require an expensive manpower, are likely to cause difficults versus cheap manpower countries.

The suggested research subject aims at making new production processes technically and economically operationnal:pressure casting, fast firing, by studing:

- The materials bound to the process
- The used raw materials
- The best interactive behaviour parameters

DAMREC, clay producer, VISTE ALEGRE, kaolin producer, NETZSCH, sanitary producer material maker, PENTA, sanitary slip producer and VILLEROY ET BOCH, sanitary producer have decided to combine their effort to reach the objective.

Technically the objects are as follows:

-Reduction by 70-80%of the shaping times
-Reduction by 30% of the energy consumption
-Utilization of a new process that allows automatization
