RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON A HIGH SPEED OIL FREE INTELLIGENT MOTOCOMPRESSOR

Objectif

A new concept of oil free machine combining the most advanced research in different spheres.
A structure has been defined the mould model, which can be used to describe a mould to a level which can be used to allow accurate information flow between the various phases of mould design and manufacture.

The various input, interaction and output modules which operate with the mould model allow for appropriate application meaning to be given to various forms of data. For example, the entities in a computer aided design (CAD) system representation of a mould component now take on the extra dimension of 'knowing' which component they 'belong' to and the behaviour can thus be controlled in appropriate ways. This allows for much more accurate and meaningful data to be generated for machining purposes. Rework or data redefinition is substantially reduced, if not almost completely eliminated. This also reduces the very large possibilities for errors in this reworking process.

A method of rendering a model of a product based on an STL file of the product has been developed. This model can then be interacted with to determine useful and appropriate information which applies to the mould production process. The use of the STL model is very important in that it is almost universally adopted for producing prototypes of products direct from their CAD model definition. Our cost calculation modules have been shown to be quite consistent in their results.

It is possible to make intelligent use of standard components in ways to control selection of those appropriate for the existing mould into which they will be placed and in the automatic determination of their parameters. The automation production of all types of workshop drawings, bills of materials and manufacturing data from the same mould model is a major benefit to reducing the effort required for this time consuming stage and increasing consistency between these various tasks. The flexibility of these modules is such that they can be used by any mould designer/mouldmaker. The help systems produced, which run under Microsoft Windows 3.1 are exceptionally useful reference sources for many types of potential user. They contain within them many years of experience in mould design and production which would otherwise be locked away inside a number of highly skilled and experienced people.
A variable frequency converter raises the frequency of the industrial network and supplies a high speed induction machine directly coupled to a compressor. Both shafts are levitated by magnetic bearings. The whole system is controlled by digital information used to converse with the central computer. Intelligent software helps to monitor the machine behaviour and to optimize the process.

- a mean time between failure of 40 000 hours
- an amelioration in safety and a reduction of risk to the environment.
