Exploitable results
The inspection system, based on the use of computer vision techniques and infrared (IR) temperature measurements is able to:
measure the surface temperature distribution;
evaluate the overall surface quality;
drive the process control by suggesting modifications to the process parameters.
It faces surfaces inspection problems such as:
textured and high reflective surfaces;
moving surfaces;
great variety of defects both in size and appearance;
suitable sensitivity (minimum detectable size of 1 mm{2}.
