The NODELASE project aimed at expanding the size of high power laser diode market in three different ways:
- reduce the cost per Watt by increasing the output power of linear laser arrays
- improve production yields through the development of:
* new technologies for the fabrication of high efficiency laser arrays
* non-destructive evaluation and screening techniques
* simulation and modelling tools
- increase reliability by a quantitative assessment of degradation mechanisms through specific characterization techniques
It reached these objectives by developing, transferring to industrial partners and marketing:
- efficient and reliable laser arrays
- new technologies for non-destructive laser diode evaluation, probing and screening
- simulation tools to facilitate a predictive design process for new laser diode products
