Conceptual designs
The new modular Machine tool that will fit a wide range of customer with optimised machine tool structure and column. Including a system for reduction of noise and a design that considers the safety aspects

The objective of this project is to take a large step ahead of todays' commercial development and perform the research into High Speed Production (HSP) that will enable the European industry to compete with a 10 times increase in the throughput by combining a true 5-axis HSM Machining Centre with the High Speed Operation of Machining Centres.
The objectives of the project are to:
- Design, build and evaluate a concept for a modular built prototype 5-axis high speed machining centre.
- Do the necessary technical and organisational research so that the operation of the machining centre will reach the objective of a 10 times increase in throughput.
- Integrate the 5-axis High Speed Machining centre and the High Speed Operation into a High Speed Production technology demonstrator for evaluation and qualification of the concept. The project is anticipated to keep European industry at the technical forefront of the world market for machine tools.
The project therefore not only addresses the end users need for higher speeds and accuracies, but also considers the problem of radically reducing the floor-to-floor time, or turn around time. Thus with these added benefits the European machine tool industry will obtain commercial edge over our worldwide competitors.
