Objective
Objectives and content
Aircraft and Helicopter manufacturers have to set up
economical challenges and adaptation to rapid market
evolution.
So, they have to be involved in continuous improvement of
process. One of the most significant and promising
technologies is a composite manufacturing, because of
their increasing weight amount in aeronautic structures
of the present and new generation of Aircraft and
Helicopters.
New approaches of Autoclave cure and Resin Transfer
Moulding injection process are proposed, which are based
on process engineering science.
The improvements will be achieved by the following
actions:
Modelling techniques of material behaviours and process
parameters.
Development and validation of real time process
monitoring techniques, such as dielectrometry, Fibre
Optics, NDT sensors, or Pressure sensors.
Development of intelligent regulation systems for
autoclave curing and RTM injection, with implementation
of modelling and process monitoring techniques.
The attended results are reduction of development and
manufacturing costs and lead times. Enhancement of the
quality and the reliability of the composite components
are also expected another impact will be the reduction of
scraps. At last it can be hoped a reduction of
qualification procedures due to the better understanding
and reliability of process as well as rapid adoption to
the change in raw materials.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
