Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Exploitable results

Comparison is made between an original rebar threading system which used manually fed machines of a previous generation and the newly developed technology which requires no labour to operate the equipment: To obtain the cost of a reinforcing bar connection requires the cost of a threaded coupler to be added to the costs of two threads. The reductions to be gained by the construction industry are significant and are sufficiently great for the cost of Mechanical Couplers to compete favourably with the traditional method of lapping and tying when overall installed cost is compared.
