Objective The main objective of the project is to integrate and optimise the production of glulam for construction purposes from the sawmill to the end user and thereby achieve a better utilization of the raw material. The strength of the sawn timber will be documented through the use of machine stress grading. How optimal utilization of machine stress graded lamellas can result in slimmer glulam constructions will also be documented. The project will emphasize the displaying of the added value by performing each process step where it gives the best economical return, and thereby obtain a competitive advantage for both the sawmill, glulam manufacturer and the end user.
