MaNUFACTURE OF WOODEN BUILDING COMPONENTS IN A RELOCATABLE PRODUCTION UNIT

Objective



The objective of this research project is to develop a relocatable production unit for wooden building components. Through the laboratory and full scale testing the produced components and the production unit technique will be evaluated. The new production unit technique will be supported by a practical computer program. There are two main stages in the research project: . Developing a building system and new nail plate technique based wooden building components, which form terms and conditions for the relocatable production unit. . Developing a technology of a relocatable production unit for wooden building components, which consists of technical assembly table, a laser-based projection system for jig, advanced use of prefabricated sub-components and a technology for short-run production line. This research project focuses on development of technology that will enable the decentralizing of component production. As consequence to decentralizing the amount of investments in wooden component production will reduce. Claimed innovative aspects of this proposal include: . Flexible component structure, because of the frame made with nail plate connectors. . Relocatable production unit. . Short-run component production including a software for production management.
