Objective This project is directed towards improving the performance and quality of sound produced by pipeless organs and other simulated instruments, mainly those which are based upon the latest Bradford Technology. Its scientific and technical objectives are: * to investigate the problems associated with the output and distribution of the sounds of pipeless organs in a variety of acoustic environments. * to explore ways of improving the interface between a musical instrument synthesiser and the person who specifies how its simulated instruments should sound. * to identify shortcomings in the hardware and software sound synthesis mechanisms of simulated instruments, mainly those based upon Bradford technology, and to propose remedies.
