Objetivo
The Industrial Objective is to improve the process of precision investment casting for application to aeroengine components by addressing perceived low yield in the production of ceramic cored wax patterns. Such a process would enable the SME dominated supply chain to maintain the industry's competitive position in response to the threat from emergent industries on the Pacific Rim. The primary Technical Objective is to develop an integrated system for die tool design and wax injection machine control, to control the flow and solidification of wax to minimise residual stresses.
