Objective
THE RAPID DEVELOPMENT OF MACHINE AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY HAS LEFT MANY PARTS OF THE CERAMICS INDUSTRY BEHIND. COMPANIES WITHIN THE INDUSTRY RECOGNISE THIS SHORTFALL BUT ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD THE RESEARCH INTO THE TECHNOLOGY DUE TO THEIR SIZE. THE RESEARCH AIMS TO COVER: 1. THE REDUCTION IN LEAD TIMES DUE TO IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGY 2. DEVELOPMENT OF METHODOLOGY 3. OPTIMUM METHODS OF DATA TRANSFER 4. INTEGRATION OF RP AND RM INTO A CERAMICS INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT 5. IMPROVE COMPETITION WITH OVERSEAS MARKETS IE: USA, JAPAN 6. IDENTIFY CORRECT LEVEL OF INTRODUCTION
