Objectif p - BEST, the new diamond coating technology, has previously unachievableapplications in important industrial fields. A special emphasis is placed onone of the most important parameters, which in the current state of technology,cannot be changed, namely the enlargement of the coating surface. With p - BESTtechnology, any threedimensional surfaces, whatever the shape, can be coated,without having to take account of the problems inherent in the former process. Preliminary uses in the field of protection against wear are planned - in thesecases selective tools and medical implants will be coated. It is hoped that newtechnology can also be applied in other areas where a diamonds qualities, such as hardness, low friction, resistance to aggressive substances, high thermal:conductivity and electronic properties, are important.
