Development of a new process enabling the protection, recycling and reuse of metallic barrels for storage and transportation of goods

Objective

The objectives of the intented research project is to create new possibilities in the life-cycle of storage and transportation of specifically toxic or pollutive products (paints, inks...) used in many industrial sites in Europe, by using a new method process and develop the prototype of a specific liner and valves, usable for all type of different metallic barrels throughout Europe and permiting easy re-use of these barrels in good environmental and economical conditions. The aim of the research project is to develop, on the basis of an existing new patent (no 9603466000 of february 13th of 1996 bought by the Prime Proposer), a new type of bonde (or valve plug) and the in-liner process. These SMEs would like to develop industrial applications on the basis of a new patent, firstly on the case of printing industries and then on the development of other activities such as manufacturers of paintings for cars, photographic laboratories, food industries, textile and chemical industries... Considering both economical and technological aspects developing such a prototype with adequate materials and components is too much complicate and risky without the contribution of major RTDs.
