Objective
THE AIM OF THIS PROJECt IS TO DEVELOP NEW AND IMPROVED METHODS FOR THE RECYCLING AND REUSE OF WASTE PLASTICS AND WASTE RUBBER. THE RESEARCH PROGRAMME WILL BE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE IDENTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF NOVEL MEANS TO IMPROVE SUBSTANCE COMPATABILITIES TO ENABLE USE OF THE PROCESSED WASTE IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER SUCH MATERIALS OR FEED-STOCKS, THUS PERMITTING THEIR USE WITHIN PRODUCES OR BINDER TYPES THAT COULD NOT CURRENTLY BE CONTEMPLATED. THE OVERRIDING CONCERN THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT WILL BE TO ACHIEVE ADDED VALUE WHEN SUCH PROCESSED WASTES ARE USED WITHIN END-PRODUCT MANUFACTURE, IN ORDER TO ENSURE THEIR ACCEPTANCE AS ALTERNATIVE OR REPLACEMENT RAW MATERIALS.
