Objective

The scientific and technical objectives of this research proposal concern the development, testing and improving of a comprehensive regional network system of reference stations, supporting a wide range of position and navigation activities with the use of satellites (GPS). The aim is to enable one-man operation for all GPS positioning activities with improvement of accuracy and rapidity. Joint use of such a network system will substantially reduce the costs of positioning and navigation. Development of new GPS applications will be facilitated and increased. Research is required to define demands from various fields and to construct reference stations and a network that meet multipurpose specifications and European standards. Problems of general use of GPS and discrepancy of local coordinates are indicated.
