Objective
THE PROJECT INVOLVES THE APPLICATION OF SATELLITE NAVIGATION TECHNIQUES TO THE CONTROL OF WIDE SPAN GANTRY TRACTORS USED IN AGRICULTURE. PRECISION GUIDANCE WILL ENABLE THE FULL BENEFITS OF GANTRY TRACTOR SYSTEMS TO BE REALISED. THESE BENEFITS INCLUDE GREATLY IMPROVED PRODUCTIVITY AND REDUCED FUEL, FERTILISER AND OTHER INPUTS. THE EXPLORATORY STAGE WILL INVOLVE THE SEARCH FOR PARTNERS, RTD PERFORMERS, AND THE DEFINITION OF THE WORK PROGRAMME.
