Research and development of a new concept of mass production low tension connectors with new insulating displacement and permanent high compression technology

Objective

Our concept already acquired an Exploratory Award in 1997, has the ambition to create a new motivation and dynamism on the professional industrial market of connectors. European SMEs who have the fervour to expand the European market, will participe on this project. Of course, connectors based on different technologies like : screwing, soldering, electrical welding, ultrasonic welding, termi point, crimping, insulation displacement U or thermo compression are present on the market. But, contrary to these existing concepts, our innovating product will be mass market conceived with latest automatism and will require two new characteristics in this field of technology. In fact, It will be an axial insulation displacement connector possessing the capacity to support permanent high compression. These new characteristics should ameliorate security during the application and facilitate the usage, thanks to the incorporation of new materials. The new product will be destinated to electrical, car industrial and telecommunication sector. As we know, such an innovation will permit the European industrial market and especially the SME help to encounter competitors, because our concept has the ambition to develop 3 different connection models integrating the new characteristics. Moving into a new century, the development of this kind of technologies will become unavoidable, because North American companies invest significant values in order to develop and create latest technologies related to connectors. So, our concept should permit the European SMEs to looke forward and reach new markets. Studies prooved, that our new concept could reach the production of 100 million connectors in Europe. Also the turnover could attempt more than 3 millions Ecus in the forth year. In order to achieve our research project we will apply different technologies in conformity with the European programme :2.1.2.S 2.1.4.M 1.1.2.M 2.2.1.M.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
