Objective
To demonstrate energy savings over 78% in 3 dwelling blocks with a total of 48 apartments. To use passive and active solar energy, the design is based on the use of a central ventilated atrium for summer and winter time. To most important innovation is the solar heating and ventilation (for cooling), that is obtained from a central ventilated atrium in a construction block with increased thermal inertia, natural shading devices, increased insulation and control system.
