THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE ENERGY DEMAND IN THE RAILWAY STATION OF MADRID

Objective

To adapt the present systems of climatization and consumption of electrical energy to economically more profitable systems that allow the enclomment of autonomy to fuel-oil and diesel station within spanish railway stations.
The use of engines and not turbines in the generation installation has been considered, fundamentally to gain versatility in the supplying of demands, and to ensure the highest economic return on the investment.
The general system will be composed of :
1. Electrical energy generation system.
2. Interconnection with the grid and protections.
3. System of exchange and distribution to conventional equipment.
4. System for the generation of absorbtion cooling.
5. System of control and automatisms.
6. Definition with the maintenance grid of a system of energy management, a centralized control installation being available at present.
Until the present time the only result has been the improvement in the electrical management of the installation, this a result of the viability studies and basic engineering made-for the definition of the project. This has allowed the optimization in both the contraction of power to the station and the aforementioned management of the station.
Close to the presently existant station machine rooms and Hotel and near to the CTI Transformation Center. Transformation Center, are located the cogeneration equipment and its connections with the present electrical and thremal installations in parallel.
Equally the existing gas-oil generators will be substituted by dual burners (natural gas-gasoil) so that there will be a greater guarantee of service.
The generation system will operate for its economic appearance and with a service adapting its time table of operation of thermal demand.
System of distribution : Chamartin Station is a tremendausly complex installation, it not only has the functions of a station but also restaurants, exhibition rooms, commercial premises and recreation areas.
For this reason the distribution system and above all the system of heating regulation and air conditioning presents an extreme complexity, the interphase of generation/use is therefore of vital importance concerning this.
To this end, the installation of and authorized system for data collection was envisaged, which manages the operation of savings obtained in a reliable way and in real time. This innovation bading to on overall optimization of results.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EQUIPMENT
The Generation of Electrical Energy
Two electrical power 1024 kW motorgenerator groups, that use natural gas fuel and of which would recover the residual heat of escape gases and of the cooling of the engines.
System
Complex which is complemented in the recovery. Six exchanges, recovery boiler, four electro-ventilators and the cooling towers.
Air Conditioning
Reversible 1450000 frig. absorbtion equipment that uses the residual heat of the gas engines, with a cooling tower that eliminates the excess of heat of the equipment's secondary circuit.
Control and Management - Automatic of the equipment.
Elements of Security. In all the circuits in pressure and gas.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
