Objective
Introduction of a new central, compact, extensional solar water heater system. By the installation of 250 systems mainly in apartments blocks, all over Greece, a reliable map of consumption and efficiency will be obtained.
According to the efficiency measurements, the cost of kWh thermal delivered by the system is varying between 0.025-0.032 ECU. This is low compared with the normal thermosiphon systems available in the Greek market where the cost is 0.05-0.08 ECU/kWh.
Maintenance difficulties have been occured mainly because of the DC pump of the systems and late deliveries of some materials.
The delay in the installation phase is caused mainly by the slow market in building sector.
The project is based on a module unit. The module unit includes storage tank (volume 500 lt), three collectors (6.6 sq.m) photovoltaic system (PV panel and pump), base and fittings.
The system of 1000 lt volume is created by connecting two storage tanks of 500 lt in series.
450 modules will be installed creating about 100 systems of 500 lt and 150 systems of 1000 lt. The systems will be installed and maintained through FOCO network of installers. Monitoring of the system based on caloriemeter, flow meters and electricity meter is provided. The first two phases of manufacturing and installation are parallel. The last phase of monitoring and evaluation will follow. The evaluation will last up to 09.94.
The collected data will be evaluated by CRES.
