Objective
The contribution is addressed to the preliminary study of the mesometeorological cycles and chemical composition of air masses in selected sites of Albania which may be responsible for photochemical pollution and acid deposition episodes.
Very little is known about the occurrence of recirculation in Albania and how mesometeorology might affect pollution. This may be significant in the near future when the Country will develope the economy. Therefore, the project will offer to the scientific community the possibility to study the chemical evolution of air masses in a relatively clean environment typical of south European Countries.
The activities will be carried out in strict collaboration with participant No.5 (CNR, Institute for Atmospheric pollution) and will be mainly focused on the chemical characterization of air masses through the measurement of nitrogen containing compounds in gas phase and in particula. te matter and the measurement of photoxidants (ozone). Data will be collec. ted by means of proper sampling and analytical techniques which include diffusion denuders, filter packs and passive samplers.
Field data will include meteorological observations in order to characterize the atmspheric circulation as a function of the season and synoptic weather pattern.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
