Extension of the PASCOOL project to Eastern European countries

Objective

The present proposal deals with the extension of the PASCOOL Project to three Eastern European Countries.
The aim of the proposal is to study the potential of passive cooling in three countries and alsoto develop systems and tools that promote the use of passive cooling.
A complete work programme has been defined for the three countries. Regarding the Experimental Testing Programme, extended monitoring actions will be caried both in Hungary and Slovenia, while short monitoring actions will be carried out in allcountries.
Experiments will be performed in accordance with the experimental protocols defined by the PASCOOL group.
Concerning the monitoring actions oriented to Comfort topics, a full building will be monitored in each country using the standard PASCOOL comfort equipment.
Regarding the climate programme, test reference, summers will be created for the three countries.
Climatic indices for passive cooling purposes will be also studied and developed for representative sites in each country.
Regarding the Natural Cooling Techniques, the potential of the ground, evaporative and radiative systems and techniques will be assessed for each country.
Regarding the development of Design Guidlines, the three Eastern European groups will participate, to the Design Guidlines Subgroup and will undertake additioually, to develop chapters for the climate conditions of Eastern Europe.
Also, will integrate in the predesign tool all the necessary information for use in Eastern Europe.
Regarding the modelling activities the Hungarian and Slovenian groups will participate to the development of the simulation tool PASPORT Plus. The specific Final products fo the project are:

a) High Quality data sets coming from the monitoring actions. b) Test reference climate files and climatic indices for Hungary, Slovenia and Bulgaria.
c) A design Handbook including all the developed guidlines for the Eastern European Countries.
d) An atlas of the potential of Natural Cooling Techniques fot the Eastern, European participating countries.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
