Catalytic combustion in a sinter metalreactor with an integrated heat exchanger

Objetivo

Catalytic combustion processes are known to have multiple steady states: two stable and one unstable state.
Going from one state to the other may involve a run away and with that the destruction of the catalyst involved.
In the existing project the stability of the reactor is only investigated in a straight forward way.
The geometry was not to be optimized for that.
Extension of the project into this may, be very useful and it will also give insight into similar problems in related processes.
The objective of this extension is to develop a computer program that will address the problem in detail and will be able to predict the run away bounderies accurately.
Where possible (when no destruction of the catalyst can occur) the model wiil be validated.
