Models, algorythms and systems for decision-making

Objective

This proposal is about a collaboration activity between the Technical University Of Budapest (Hungary) and The Technical University Of Sofia (Bulgaria) in the framework of a Human Capital And Mobility Network, coordinated by the Politecnico Di Milano (Italy), contract no. ERBCHRXCT 9300871, entitled "Models, Algorithms And Systems For Decision Making".
The research groups that constitute this network have developed during the last years a substantial body of experience in methods and algorithms in many areas of combinatorial optimization both pratical and theoretical. The most important classes of algorithmic tools are: optimization algorithms for combinatorial problems, approximate algorithms for combinatorial problems, network models, tools for constructing decision support systems.
The proposed hungarian participant, that was enclosed from the beginning in the original Hc&M proposal, will contribute to the theory and design of VLSI algorithms in particular in VLSI routing.
The results should be theoretical contributions and fast algorithms. The proposed Bulgarian partner will contribute to the network activities developing a broad research on alternative methods of modelling decision making schemes (DMS).
Expected achievements are: review of the existing approaches, implementations and models, based on SMT(Simulation Modelling Techniques), AI (Artificial Intelligence), FL (Fuzzi Logic) and state of the art simulation, AI and other SW in modelling DMS; theoretical conceptualization of alternatives for simulating DMS; development, test and validation of DMS models and expertise.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
