Objetivo
As a clinical neurologist in the University Department of Neurology in Ljubljana, president of MS Society of Slovenia, MRAB from 1981, member of the medical management committee MRAB IFMSS, I am interested to participate in the fifth taskgroup (Optimising Rehabilitation Programmes at the different stages of the disease").
There are different topics related to the various aspects of the rehabilitation in MS. Ataxia is one of the major problems of cerebellar or other origin in MS. Especially young people with MS (teenagers) are often severe disabled by in coordination and ataxie, so it represents one of the most important burdens MS can cause to the patient and his family. With the members of our team I wish to organize a study group to evaluate the state of art in this field: with the multi-disciplinary approach related to all the different aspects of ataxia in MS.
We would like to participate in the MARCH already ongoing programme and in complementary we would like to organize a special workshop dedicated to ataxia in MS. With many years of experience in this field we want to promote better knowledge and treatment of MS patients in Slovenia and Europe.
