Objective
The Charles University team has a strong activity in the magneto-optic spectroscopy of magnetic ultrathin film structures and multilayers. These studies have been carried out in a long term cooperation with the University of Paris-Sud teams already participating in this network. The research done in Prague on ultrathin films and multilayers provided valuable information on MO interactions in the following layered systems: transition metal(Fe,Co,Ni)/noble metal(Au,Ag,Cu,Pt) or dielectric(AlN). The prospective contributions of this group in the theoretical analysis of magneto-optic results in new magneto-optical media being investigated within the network is considered quite valuable.
The Bialystok team work is focused on the magnetic and magneto-optical properties of ultrathin structures, especially in understanding the magnetic domain configurations in ultrathin transition metal layers. This work will start with domain configurations in transition metal monolayers, and then evolve to magnetically coupled layers, and patterned magnetic films such as dots, wires, heads. This team contribution is complementary to the several teams activity in domain analysis by different techniques.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
