Objective
The objectives of this proposal are to reinforce the original consortium with new partners from PECO countries offering them the possibility to join the network in conformity with the objectives of the original proposal and to have access to all the results of the original consortium gathering together 14 East European Laboratories expert in forming processes.
Four laboratories from PECO countries wish to join the HCM network programme : three of them are involved in metal forming and the last in polymer studies. In the initial programme the metal forming processes emphasizedwere the rolling and forging ones. In this additional work it is proposed to study numerically and experimentally deep-drawing process with numerical simulation by commercial FEM package, experimental studies in rheology and tribology with special devices adapted to sheet forming. It is proposed to apply an inverse parameter estimation method to determine constitutive and friction parameters adapted to the above laboratory testings.
The coordinator has already developed powerful inverse method in the Computer Aided Rheology domain to identify automatically material parameters from rheological torsion test results. This PECO programme will be an interesting opportunity to collaborate and compare the approach of the specialists in this area. This inverse method was also applied to the optimisation of industrial forming technology.
In polymer forming domain it is proposed to study the influence of hydrostatic pressure on the polymers structure and thus the influence on their processability.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
