European Climate computer network

Objective

The enclosed proposal from the Romanian National Institute
of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) (Responsible scientist:
C. Mares) has been reviewed by the Coordinating Committee of the European Climate Computer Network. The proposal makes
good use of the available facilities and climate data, and
the institute has a good record of scientific work in the field. The proposal would help improve training of Romanian scientists and provide valuable essential data and equipment. C. Mares
has indicated that the obtained facilities and data Wiil be
made available to other Romanian users. The ECCN coordinating committee therefore recommended to add NIMH as its Romanian
partner.
Because of the short application period and the difficulties of phone or fax communication With Romania, the application
forms have not been completed by NIMH at the time of submission.
