Objective The objective of this project is the development and exploitation of photonic based communication technologies in the Central and Eastern European countries. Specific goals are: the establishment of materials assessment techniques to characterise the growth of intricate, multiple layers of advanced electronic materials for and their exploitation in semiconductor devices research and development of a new resonant cavity enhanced PIN photodiode with wavelength selective enhanced efficiency derived from Fabry-Perot resonances and from quantum size effects.
