Novel Heterostructure Devices and Materials Assessment for Communication and Information Technologies

Objective

The objective of this project is the development and exploitation of photonic based communication technologies in the Central and Eastern European countries.

Specific goals are:

the establishment of materials assessment techniques to characterise the growth of intricate, multiple layers of advanced electronic materials for and their exploitation in semiconductor devices
research and development of a new resonant cavity enhanced PIN photodiode with wavelength selective enhanced efficiency derived from Fabry-Perot resonances and from quantum size effects.
