The Development and Evaluation of a New Generation of Real-Time Software Engineering Design Tools for Handling the Temporal Aspects of Industrial Applications of Information Technology

Objective

This project will produce a fully documented and validated suite of real-time software engineering tools, operating on standard computing platforms. The tools will operate in association with a standard OMT tool, and provide an extensive facility for specifying, analysing, simulating and animating the dynamic performance of a software/hardware system.

The project builds upon the extensive theoretical base in real-time software modelling techniques, complemented by expertise in communications and manufacturing, areas in which the need to model and analyse temporal interactions is essential.

INFORMATION DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES

The direct outcome of the project will be a new software tool, available for rapid commercialisation, via the two industrial partners, and subsequently marketed to a wide cross-section of software development companies, and educational and training institutions.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
